Choose a consistent quantity unit
For multi-bag snacks, multiply the bag count by each bag’s net weight. A large outer carton can hold very small inner portions, so compare the declared quantities rather than the photograph or box dimensions. Our tool does not estimate how many days a child should take to finish the pack.
Read serving information in context
FDA explains that a Nutrition Facts serving size is a label reference, not a recommendation of how much to eat. Do not translate a listed serving into an individualized infant portion. Ingredient, allergen, texture and choking questions remain separate from price arithmetic.
Do not let convenient packaging decide readiness
Use current professional guidance for the child’s needs and supervise eating as advised by CDC. A meltable or convenient format should not be treated as a guarantee against choking. Price cannot settle whether a food is appropriate for a particular child.
Before you decide
- Use total net weight.
- Do not turn servings into a feeding plan.
- Consider food suitability separately from value.
